Map Painting Tutorial

Map painting allows you to paint pixel by pixel on maps in the server to create unique artwork. You can then make your own art gallery, sell your work to others, make unique decor for your builds or participate in Sakura Realms painting contest events!

Getting started with Map Painting

Step 1: Join the Sakura Realms Minecraft server play.sakurarealms.net

Step 2: Craft an Easel

Step 3: Craft a Canvas

Step 3: Place the canvas on the easel

Step 4: Right click to sit down in-front of your canvas.

Step 5: Right click the canvas with a dye item in your hand to paint (More info on dye colors in /art)

TIP: You can also use a paint bucket to fill large areas of your painting.

To fill larger areas of a painting left click while holding a bucket. You can undo your last edit by right clicking with the bucket still in your hand. You can change the paint bucket color by adding dye and a bucket into the crafting menu as seen below.

Step 5: When you are finished make sure to save your work. Here's how:

  • Craft a paint brush

  • Right click your art with the paint brush

  • Give it a funky name!

  • It will then go into your inventory.

TIP: How to submit to contests or save work into the real world!

  • While holding your map in hand type [item]

  • In Discord navigate to in-game-chat channel

  • Click your map and copy it. You can then submit into contest channels or save onto your device!

Have fun!
